Maple Cookies with Maple Glaze

These mouthwatering Maple Cookies made with real maple syrup,  are a perfect blend of soft and chewy, with a delightful maple flavor that will have you coming back for more.  Drizzled with a heavenly maple glaze, these cookies are the ultimate treat for maple lovers.

Cookie Ingredients

  • 2 2/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 12 tbsp salted butter, cold and cut into cubes
  • 1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Rolling the cookies

  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Glaze

  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line 2 cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together the dry ingredients and set aside.
  3. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, cream together the butter and brown sugar for 4 minutes.
  4. Add in the egg yolk, syrup and extract. 
  5. Add in the dry ingredients on medium-low speed and mix.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, scoop the dough onto the baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. 
  7. Preheat oven to 350. Remove dough from fridge and mix together the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. 
  8. Roll each cookie dough ball in the cinnamon sugar, place back on the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Once done, let the cookies cool for 10 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack.
  9. Microwave the butter and syrup in a microwave safe bowl until melted. Whisk in the remaining ingredients until smooth. 
  10. Drizzle on top of cookies and enjoy.
